Storytelling: Internet’s Future

According to Michael Eisner, former CEO of Walt Disney, story driven content is the next big app. He used the analogy of YouTube is to the Internet as Nickelodeon is to the movies. “It’s the preliminary installment of what is to come.”

In general terms, I do agree that we are going to see more creative storytelling on the Internet. There are some that I already watch like PurePwnage and ones that I used to watch–namely, Lonelygirl15 of YouTube. Lonelygirl15 was interesting at the height of its popularity–I may have just fallen for the hype–but it eventually got rather boring.

Human beings have been telling stories for as long as we have been around. It is due time that we utilized the web for storytelling.
