A small game reminding us of the importance of free speech.
- action
- adventure
- browser-game
Free speech is a fundamental principle of a free society. We don’t harm people for what they say, even when we think they’re wrong.
I wasn’t in the demographic that resonated most with Charlie Kirk and I didn’t follow him. But when he was assassinated while debating on a college campus, I knew I had to make this.
This experience is about 30 minutes. Keyboard or a phone. Built with Unity.
There’s an overworld and four levels. Each one is a civilian from American history who was killed for speaking:
- Elijah Lovejoy, 1837. Used a printing press against slavery.
- Medgar Evers, 1963. Fought for integration and the ballot.
- Martin Luther King Jr., 1968. Preached civil disobedience against racial discrimination.
- Alan Berg, 1984. Used his radio show to ridicule white supremacists.
You collect four fragments of speech and bring them back to the Hall of Speech. A few easter eggs.
